You cannot describe what God is. You can only describe of God is not. Is it in accurate to say that God is not anything? God is that which remains after enumerating all possible words, in all possible combinations.
For Maimonides, 99% of god worship is idolatry. If you think God is a big version of you, that’s idolatry. If you think that you love a little, but God loves a lot, this is a naive take on the divine, much like the Christian tradition reifies Jesus as the anthropomorphic god-man in the sky.
