Russia is the 9th largest manufacturer of automobiles in the world. After Russia's invasion of Ukraine, international car manufacturers departed the country and factories lay dormant. Then China stepped in and took over many of these factories. Today in late 2023, half of the cars sold in Russia are made by Chinese companies.
